The cast is led by renowned Uruguayan actor <strong>N\u00e9stor Guzzini<\/strong> (\u2018Mr. Kaplan\u2019, \u2018So Much Water\u2019), alongside <strong>Marcelo Subiotto<\/strong> (\u2018Puan\u2019, \u2018Incident Light\u2019), <strong>Mar\u00eda Elena P\u00e9rez<\/strong> (\u2018Barrabrava\u2019), <strong>Roberto Su\u00e1rez<\/strong> (\u2018Yosi, the Regretful Spy), <strong>Noelia Campo<\/strong> (\u2018Burnt Money\u2019), and <strong>Catalina Arrillaga<\/strong> (\u2018Togo\u2019).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Set and shot entirely in Montevideo, the story follows the Salda\u00f1a family during what was supposed to be a quiet summer spent house- and dog-sitting for their neighbors, the Pernas. But after overstepping the bounds of their hosts\u2019 trust, the Salda\u00f1as begin treating the house as their own. When the Pernas&#8217; beloved dog mysteriously disappears, it sets off a dark, spiraling conflict \u2014 a psychological standoff between two families, steeped in resentment, manipulation, and cruelty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018PERROS\u2019 will screen at the Spanish Academy of Cinematic Arts and Sciences (Calle Zurbano, 3 \u2013 Madrid) on Friday, November 14 at 16:00 CET.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The film was made with the support of ACAU (Uruguayan Film and Audiovisual Agency), INCAA (Argentina\u2019s National Film and Audiovisual Institute), Uruguay Audiovisual Program (PUA), Cultural Incentive Funds (FIC), MVD Filma and MVD Socio \u2013 Montevideo City Council, Ibermedia Program. In 2019, \u2018PERROS\u2019 was selected to participate in the Europe\u2013Latin America Co-Production Forum at the San Sebasti\u00e1n Film Festival (Spain).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About GERARDO MINUTTI BONILLA \u2014 Director &amp; Screenwriter<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A graduate in Social Communication, Gerardo Minutti spent a decade working as a cultural journalist. In 2013, he was awarded a grant from Uruguay\u2019s Ministry of Education and Culture through the FEFCA (Fund for Artistic Training and Creation) to develop a feature film script under the mentorship of Pablo Stoll (director\/screenwriter), Laura Santullo (screenwriter), and Sandino Saravia (executive producer). That project became the first draft of \u2018PERROS\u2019.
