The new version of the iconic track ‘Que nadie me levante la voz’ — performed by Jerez-born artists D’CHIPEN and María Terremoto (Universal Music) — is now available on all major music platforms. The song accompanies the highly anticipated return of Aída in ‘Aída y vuelta’, the new movie directed by Paco León.
Originally performed by Bebe in 2005, ‘Que nadie me levante la voz’ quickly became a feminist anthem. Its raw, defiant lyrics celebrated freedom, dignity, and the right to control one’s own life. Now, twenty years later, that same message returns, more powerful and urgent than ever — charged with a bold, contemporary energy.
Two generations, one voice
Born in Jerez de la Frontera in 1999, María Terremoto carries the legacy of a legendary flamenco lineage. The daughter of Fernando Terremoto and granddaughter of Terremoto de Jerez, she was singing bulerías at her family’s peña by the age of eight. Today, she’s a master of soleás, fandangos, and cantiñas — but her gaze is firmly fixed on the future. Drawing inspiration from artists like Rosalía, María represents a generation that honors tradition while fearlessly reinventing it.
D’CHIPEN meanwhile, is a band born in 2024 in the Santiago district of Jerez, made up of Bastián Blanco, Juana del Mono, Beatriz Morales, and Juan Romero — young musicians with old souls and a cutting-edge vision. Their sound fuses the rawest flamenco with visceral electronic music, creating a sensory explosion that reimagines traditional coplas from Jerez through loops, fingerpads, taconeo, palmas, and flamenco guitar. They are currently putting the finishing touches on their debut album at the legendary Estudio La Bodega in Jerez — a project poised to become a benchmark in the emerging flamenco-electronic scene.
This new version of ‘Que nadie me levante la voz’ is a sonic journey that breathes tradition and pulses with the rhythm of today — a powerful reflection of the rebellious, transformative spirit of ‘Aída y vuelta’, poised to resonate with lifelong fans and new audiences alike.
The countdown begins
‘Aída y vuelta’, set to premiere in cinemas on January 30, tells the story of shooting a new episode of the original series, weaving together plotlines that unfold both within the fictional world of Aída and behind the scenes, through the personal dynamics of the cast. The movie opens the door to reflections on the boundaries of comedy, the nature of fame, and the challenges of working as a comic actor today.
Distributed by Sony Pictures Entertainment Iberia, ‘Aída y vuelta’ is produced by Globomedia (THE MEDIAPRO STUDIO) and Telecinco Cinema, in collaboration with Mediaset España, Mediterráneo Mediaset España Group, and Prime Video — where the movie will be available following its theatrical release. Producers include Laura Fernández Espeso and Javier Méndez for Globomedia (THE MEDIAPRO STUDIO), and Ghislain Barrois and Álvaro Augustin for Telecinco Cinema.
The cast brings together the iconic ensemble of Carmen Machi, Miren Ibarguren, Mariano Peña, Eduardo Casanova, Pepe Viyuela, Melani Olivares, Canco Rodríguez, Secun de la Rosa, David Castillo, Marisol Ayuso, Pepa Rus, Óscar Reyes and Adrián Gordillo — alongside a total of 96 characters. Many of these roles were filled through an open online casting call launched earlier this year via the movie’s official Instagram account, @Aidalapeli, which has already surpassed 100,000 followers.
THE MEDIAPRO STUDIO DISTRIBUTION handles the movie’s international distribution rights.
