Screenwriting Master’s Degree
In The Mediapro Studio’s Master’s in Screenwriting, we identify talent and train the sector’s future professionals. We offer comprehensive and exclusive training that covers writing for feature films, series, non-fiction formats and project sales. The program is offered with an identical curriculum in Madrid at the UCM and in Barcelona through the ESCAC and it offers students the same advantages at either location, both as far as guaranteed internships in screenwriting and access to great professionals who participate in the program as advisors and teachers.

The Mediapro Studio’s master’s in Madrid with the Universidad Complutense de Madrid through the School of Information Sciences began in 2019. The dean of the School of Information Sciences, Jorge Clemente, co-directs the master’s at the Madrid headquarters.
Barcelona
Due to popular demand, in 2023, the prestigious ESCAC (Escola Superior de Cinema i Audiovisuals de Catalunya) school in Barcelona joined the project, forming a new headquarters for the Master’s in Screenwriting in Barcelona.

FAQs
Where are classes held?
Classes at the Barcelona headquarters are held at Espacio ESCAC, located at calle Girona, 22. Classes at the Madrid headquarters are held at Espacio DIMAD at the Matadero Madrid, located at Paseo de la Chopera, 14.
What is the schedule for classes?
The class schedule is always Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 am to 2 pm, although there may be consult sessions or tutorials anytime during the week and students must be available to complete required assignments throughout the course.
Can the program be completed online?
This course must be completed in person. It cannot be completed online. Only certain classes are taught online.
To apply to this master’s, do I need to have studied audiovisual communication?
Although recommended, having completed this type of studies is not required. To determine whether applicants are ideal candidates, a series of entrance exams will be carried out to confirm their level.
