CINCO MINUTOS MÁS, feature produced by El Terrat (THE MEDIAPRO STUDIO) and Ikiru Films, written by and starring Berto Romero, is now shooting under the direction of Javier Ruiz Caldera in Girona province. Producers include Edmon Roch, Laura Fernandez Espeso, Berto Romero, and Javier Méndez, with Guillermo Farré and Fran Araújo for Movistar Plus+ while Clara Valle serves as executive producer.

Widely regarded as one of the most versatile directors of his generation, Javier Ruiz Caldera has built a filmography defined by sharp pacing, smart humor, and a distinctive visual style that resonates with audiences. CINCO MINUTOS MÁS marks another creative collaboration with longtime partner Berto Romero, whom he previously directed in the series The Other Side and Mira lo que has hecho, as well as in feature films including Spanish Movie, Superlópez, Spy Time, Three Many Weddings, and the recent box-office hit Wolfgang. His standout credits also include A Man of Action, Ghost Graduation, and Valley of the Dead, a historical thriller that showcased his command of genre filmmaking and his singular cinematic voice.

Joining Berto Romero in the lead cast are Javier Cámara — two-time Goya winner for Living Is Easy with Eyes Closed and Truman, and recipient of both Feroz and Ondas Awards for his role in the Vota Juan trilogy — and Belén Cuesta, Goya winner for The Endless Trench. CINCO MINUTOS MÁS marks Romero’s feature debut as creator, following his success with the Movistar Plus+ series Mira lo que has hecho and The Other Side, both directed by Javier Ruiz Caldera and produced with El Terrat (THE MEDIAPRO STUDIO).

CINCO MINUTOS MÁS follows a couple in crisis who retreat to a remote countryside home for a quiet weekend. After being shown around the property and just as the agent hands over the keys, something extraordinary happens: the world slips into a time loop. The last five minutes start repeating over and over — like a needle skipping on a record.

The ensemble cast includes Carlos Bernardino (Iron Reign), Marc Soler (UPA Next), Clàudia Melo (On the Fringe), Puchi Lagarde (Galgos), Tian Tosas (The Last Night at Tremore Beach), and Nia Tosas (El mal invisible).

Filmax is handling distribution in Spain.
