The wait is over. The first official trailer for ‘Aída y vuelta’ is now live, kicking off the countdown to the big‑screen return of Spain’s most iconic TV characters. Directed by Paco León and co‑written with Fer Pérez, the film opens on 30 January 2026. ‘Aída y vuelta’, distributed by Sony Pictures Entertainment Iberia, is a co-production between
Globomedia (THE MEDIAPRO STUDIO) and Telecinco Cinema, in association with Mediaset España, Mediterráneo Mediaset España Group and Prime Video, where it will be available after its theatrical release. Producing credits include Laura Fernández Espeso and Javier Méndez for Globomedia (THE MEDIAPRO STUDIO), and Ghislain Barrois and Álvaro Augustín for Telecinco Cinema.
More than just a film, ‘Aída y vuelta’ marks a reunion of a generation with Esperanza Sur — the beloved barrio that captured millions of viewers and now makes its leap to the big screen with a story packed with emotion, humor and nostalgia. According to Paco León, the trailer offers “a glimpse behind the scenes, the backstage that is also the inside. It’s complex. But it’s also fun.”
The main cast features Carmen Machi, Miren Ibarguren, Mariano Peña, Eduardo Casanova, Pepe Viyuela, Melani Olivares, Canco Rodríguez, Secun de la Rosa, David Castillo, Marisol Ayuso, Pepa Rus, Óscar Reyes and Adrián Gordillo — alongside a total of 96 actors, many selected via an online casting process earlier this year through the film’s Instagram account @Aidalapeli, which has now surpassed 100,000 followers.
The original series ‘Aída’ was a social and television phenomenon — a ratings smash that coined iconic lines still present in Spanish popular culture today. The film ‘Aída y vuelta’ follows both the fictional characters and the actors behind them, weaving a story set on the production of a new episode, while exploring themes such as the limits of humor, the comedian’s craft, and fame.
THE MEDIAPRO STUDIO DISTRIBUTION handles the film’s international rights.
