THE MEDIAPRO STUDIO Distribution wraps MIPCOM 2025 with a strong reception for its slate of content, resulting in a number of high-profile international distribution deals. Standout titles include the scripted series The Famous Five (Los Cinco) and Celeste, along with the documentary Real Madrid: How Could I Not Love You—all acquired by leading global broadcasters and platforms.
The Famous Five expands its international reach
The international adventure series The Famous Five (Los Cinco), co-produced by Moonage Pictures, byNWR, and THE MEDIAPRO STUDIO for the BBC, is based on the iconic novels by British author Enid Blyton. THE MEDIAPRO STUDIO Distribution holds the distribution rights for Spain, Portugal, and Latin America. The series has now been acquired by Televisión Española for broadcast in Spain, and by SIC for its premiere in Portugal.
Touted by BBC Studios as one of its most ambitious youth-oriented productions to date, The Famous Five is co-created by Danish filmmaker Nicolas Winding Refn (Drive, Only God Forgives, Valhalla Rising) and Matthew Read, and reimagined for a new generation of global audiences.
Another standout title gaining traction in the international market is Celeste, created by Diego San José and co-produced by THE MEDIAPRO STUDIO and Movistar Plus+. The series has cemented its international profile after receiving Best Series and Best Actress (Carmen Machi) honors in the International Panorama section of Series Mania, as well as the Best Comedy Series award at the Italian Global Series Festival. At MIPCOM, Celeste confirmed upcoming launches on Be tv (Belgium), Arte (France–Germany), RTS (Switzerland), and SBS (Australia).
Real Madrid documentary draws global interest
Also earning strong interest was the sports documentary Real Madrid: How Could I Not Love You, produced by Wakai Media in collaboration with Real Madrid C.F., with international sales handled by THE MEDIAPRO STUDIO Distribution. The title has been acquired by SKY Italia, Canal+ Africa, and will also be available soon in Japan, Turkey, MENA, and Cyprus.
Hunting Ava Bravo continues international sales momentum
The company has also secured new distribution deals for the action thriller Hunting Ava Bravo, co-produced by THE MEDIAPRO STUDIO, Top Dead Center Films, and Wild Sheep Content. Directed by Gary Auerbach and starring Kate del Castillo—who also serves as executive producer—the film continues its global rollout with confirmed premieres on Paramount+ France and Media4fun Poland.
Classic titles maintain global appeal
Lastly, library content within THE MEDIAPRO STUDIO’s distribution slate continues to attract international buyers. One standout example is the romantic drama Three Steps Above Heaven (Tres metros sobre el cielo), directed by Fernando González Molina and starring Mario Casas, which remains a consistent hit in global markets. So far this year, the film has renewed broadcast and platform deals in Germany, the United Kingdom, the Balkans, and across Asia.
