Yosi, the Regretful Spy, The Amazon Original series produced by Oficina Burman (THE MEDIAPRO STUDIO) and created by Daniel Burman, continues its hit run with season two yesterday winning the Rose d’Or Latino award for Best Drama Series, during a ceremony held in Miami as part of Content Americas. Both seasons of the series are available on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories around the world.
In addition to its success at the Rose d’Or Latinos, season two of Yosi, the Regretful Spy has also picked up 9 nominations for the 2025 Silver Condor Awards, in the categories of Best Drama Series, Best Leading Actress (Natalia Oreiro); Best Supporting Actor (Alejandro Awada); Best Series Direction (Daniel Burman, Sebastián Borensztein and Martín Hodara); Best editing (Alejandro Parysow and Santiago Parysow); Best Sound Design (Jesica Suárez); Best Art Direction (Marcelo Salvioli and Ana Giovanoni); Best Costume Design (Roberta Pesci and Carolina Duré) and Best Makeup and Hairstyling (Alberto Moccia).
Since its premiere at the 72nd edition of the Berlinale Series in 2022, Yosi, the Regretful Spy has continued to win awards and critical acclaim. In addition to the Rose D’Or Latinos awards, 10 other awards have been earned along the way by this wildly successful production, among them the Platino Award won last May by Daniel Burman as Best Series Creator and the Ibero-American Cinema Platino Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Miniseries or TV Series for Alejandro Awada for his role as Saúl.
Furthermore, in 2023, Yosi, the Regretful Spy won the Sur Award for Best Series presented by Argentina’s Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and in the area of Scripted TV Production, the Argentine Writers Guild singled out the work of the series creators: Daniel Burman, Natacha Caravia Muñiz, Sebastián Borensztein, Andrés Sebastián Gelos and Sergio Enrique Dubcovsky. Those two awards were followed by a further six Silver Condor Awards presented by the Argentinian Association of Film Critics for Best Adapted Screenplay (Sebastián Borensztein, Natacha Caravia, Andrés Gelós, Sergio Dubcovsky and Daniel Burman), Best Actor in a Drama (Gustavo Bassani), Best Female Newcomer (Minerva Casero), Best Sound Design (Jesica Suárez) and Best Original Music (Federico Jusid),.
Acclaimed as one of the best series of 2023 by both The New York Times and The Hollywood Reporter, Yosi, the Regretful Spy was nominated for an International Emmy in the Best Drama Series category for two consecutive years and in 2023, was also honored in the same awards with a nomination in the Best Actor category for Gustavo Bassani.
Daniel Burman, series creator and showrunner, shares directing credit with Sebastián Borensztein, who is also the main screenwriter along with a team made up of Andrés Gelós, Natacha Caravia, Sergio Dubcovsky and Burman himself.
Natalia Oreiro (Expiration Date, Santa Evita) and Gustavo Bassani (Argentina, tierra de amor y venganza, Señales del fin del mundo) lead the cast of season two, which is rounded out by Mercedes Morán (Maradona: Blessed Dream, The Kingdom), Alejandro Awada (Historia de un clan, Nine Queens), Carla Quevedo (Monzón, The Secret in Their Eyes), Marco Antonio Caponi (El Tigre Verón, Nobody’s Watching), Matias Mayer (Barrabrava, A Singular Crime), Minerva Casero (Argentina, Land of Love and Revenge, Simona), Damian Dreizik (Loco Por Vos, Los olvidados) and Cesar Troncoso (A Twelve-Year Night, Diciembre 2001), and featuring special appearances by Moran Rosenblatt (Fauda, Hit & Run) and Itzik Cohen (Fauda).
At the ceremony this week for the second edition of the Rose d’Or Latinos, Radical won the award for Best Film for TV or Streaming. The Mediapro Studio Distribution is responsible for sales in Spain and Portugal for this original feature by ViX which stars Eugenio Derbez.
